Academic Job Market Pt. 2

In addition to the post I made previously about the academic job market, I wanted to share some more resources, especially the slides I've made for my students, when I've talked about applying to academic positions. They include general information about what even is facultying, the application process (and precursor to how a job even gets created), along with overviews and advice on materials and how to stay organized through it all.
Some additional resources might also be for updating your CV and the difference between that, a resume, and a cover letter (see post here), or even things like whether you should create a website as a way to "get out here" (see my post on that here).

But most importantly, like what these slides and my previous post on the job market emphasize, community is key: to editing, for bouncing ideas with one another, for encouragement, and for the laughs to keep you going~

As always, if you have questions, don't hesitate to reach out; you can find me here.

Writing is a craft. To sharpen mine, I read a fair amount of books, articles, excerpts, and more. At least for the books, here are some I've enjoyed.

And if you're looking to buy a book, support local bookstores, and/or buy via Bookshop.

And if you want to support the content I create on this site, you can "buy me a cup of coffee" through the button. Thank you~
