Note: I'm still reflecting on where these posts should go or if they should be moved to a more static page, so if you have any recommendations, please let me know. Beyond "High Risk": Statement on Disability and Campus Re-openings | A must read especially for campuses who are going to be opening in the fall; from the Accessible Campus Action Alliance
The Trayvon Generation | This entire article was incredible. Trayvon Martin should have been graduating from high school this year. Writing Advice for My Younger Self | A friend sent me this link, authored by E.J. Koh and it was so lovely. I'll leave you with some of Koh's words: "Treat your words and your person kindly. They have traveled a vast distance over the span of human history to be with you." The Role Publishing Plays in the Commodification of Black Pain | Great article about how we should just be buying books about slavery and trauma. There is so much amazing literature that doesn't commodify and center pain to be the singular narrative. McSweeney's satirical higher education institutional statement | The perfect laugh/cry because the entitled, "We condemn all institutional racism except our own," hit a little too close to the realities of these statements we're seeing from college and universities. Higher Education webinar | Check out Cornell University's webinar on "Anti-Blackness, Racial Equity, and Higher Education" On a similar note like the last "Last Day Digest," I have another "Random Round Up" and in that section, included several great articles about the racism and anti-Blackness within the romance genre of publishing so feel free to check those out too.

Writing is a craft. To sharpen mine, I read a fair amount of books, articles, excerpts, and more. At least for the books, here are some I've enjoyed.
